Clean duplicate lines from a list with case, whitespace, blank-line and sorting options.
Enter your content and choose the action you need.
Paste text to begin. Up to 1,000,000 characters and 10,000 data rows.
Remove repeated items from a plain-text list while keeping the first occurrence of each matching line. Case and surrounding-space options control which lines count as duplicates; they do not rewrite the retained line.
apple, banana, apple, orange, banana on five separate lines produces apple, banana, orange: three unique lines and two removed duplicates. With Ignore letter case, APPLE and apple match; the first spelling remains in the output.
Exact matching is the default. Ignoring case can merge identifiers that should stay distinct. Ignoring surrounding spaces does not collapse spaces inside a line. The first retained line keeps its original whitespace. Sorting changes order, so leave it off when sequence matters.
Runs in the browser. Limits: 1,000,000 characters and 10,000 lines. CRLF and CR line endings are normalized to LF. A single final line terminator does not create an extra input line. Blank-line removal treats whitespace-only lines as blank. Sorting uses the browser locale; accented-character order can vary by browser settings.
No. Case-insensitive matching keeps the first original line exactly as entered.
The original input remains in the left field until you edit it or choose Clear. Keep a source copy if you need to return later.
