Text & Formatting questions

JSON Formatter: Does formatting change my data?

No. Formatting changes whitespace only. Minifying also preserves the parsed values.

JSON Formatter: Is my JSON uploaded?

No. Formatting and validation run in your browser.

Case Converter: Why are some brand names changed incorrectly?

Automated rules lack a complete dictionary of intentional capitalization.

Case Converter: Is title case universal?

No. Publications and languages use different title-capitalization rules.

XML Formatter: Does formatting validate an XSD?

No. Structural well-formedness and schema validation are separate checks.

XML Formatter: Can indentation alter XML?

For data-centric XML it is often insignificant, but mixed content and whitespace-preserving rules need care.

Word Counter: How are reading and speaking time calculated?

Reading time is words divided by 225; speaking time is words divided by 130. Non-empty results round up to a whole minute. These are rough editing estimates.

Word Counter: Is my text uploaded?

Typing and pasting stay in the page. Load from File uploads the selected document for text extraction.

Word Counter: What separates paragraphs?

One or more blank lines. A single line break changes line count without necessarily starting a new paragraph.

Replace Text: What is the difference between text and regex mode?

Text mode treats characters literally; regex mode interprets a pattern language.

Replace Text: Can replacement be undone?

Keep the original or use the interface reset before leaving; downloaded or copied output should be reviewed separately.

Random Word Generator: Are generated words equally likely?

That depends on the source list and selection method; filtering also changes the available pool.

Random Word Generator: Can these words be used as passwords?

Not by themselves. Secure passphrases require a cryptographically random process and sufficient entropy.

Random Number Generator: Can results repeat?

Yes unless unique-results mode is enabled and the range can support the requested count.

Random Number Generator: Is this suitable for cryptographic keys?

Use a dedicated cryptographic key generator and reviewed platform API for security credentials.

Compare Text: Is my text sent to a server?

No. The comparison and report download are generated in the browser.

Compare Text: Can I compare PDFs or Word files?

This tool accepts pasted plain text. Extract or copy the text first; formatting is not compared.

CSS Formatter: Will formatting change the design?

A formatter should preserve token order, but always test important styles after transformation.

CSS Formatter: Does valid CSS guarantee a correct page?

No. The cascade can be valid while producing an unintended layout.

CSV ↔ JSON Converter: Can I convert nested JSON?

Flatten nested objects and arrays first. This converter accepts flat records only.

CSV ↔ JSON Converter: Why does my CSV fail?

Check the separator, header names, field count and whether embedded quotes are doubled inside a quoted field.

Remove Duplicate Lines: Does this change capitalization?

No. Case-insensitive matching keeps the first original line exactly as entered.

Remove Duplicate Lines: Can I undo changes?

The original input remains in the left field until you edit it or choose Clear. Keep a source copy if you need to return later.

JavaScript Formatter: Does formatting deobfuscate code?

It improves layout but does not restore meaningful names or reverse deliberate obfuscation.

JavaScript Formatter: Can a formatter find every syntax error?

A parser can identify many syntax problems, but not logical or runtime errors.

SQL Formatter: Does formatting optimize a query?

No. Optimization requires schema statistics, indexes, an execution plan, and workload context.

SQL Formatter: Can the tool validate table names?

No. It has no connection to your database schema.
