How to use Watermark PDF

What this tool helps you do

A visible watermark identifies the status or source of a document. Choose text for a short label such as DRAFT, or a PNG/JPG image for a logo or text in another script.

For a review copy, use DRAFT, opacity 0.25, 36pt and centered placement. Preview a page with dense text to check that the label remains readable without hiding the document.

Limitations and common mistakes

A visible watermark does not prevent copying or editing and is not a digital signature. It cannot securely redact information. Edge placement with rotation can clip artwork; use the output preview. Existing signatures are invalidated; forms, links and bookmarks need checking.

PDF up to 25MB and 40 pages; watermark image up to 5MB and 16 million pixels, PNG or JPG. Text supports 1–100 printable English characters. Font size is 8–96pt; opacity is 0.05–1; rotation is −90° to 90°. Image width is 5–70% of page width and is reduced if needed to fit 70% of page height. Files are uploaded for processing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a transparent logo?

Yes. PNG transparency is combined with the selected opacity.

Can I remove an existing watermark?

No. This tool adds a watermark; it does not remove existing page content.
